website. I thought I'd put the lin here in case any of you
feel the need to speak up as an American.)A personal success I noticed today – I can laugh not
too long after "the mean ones" take a petty shot at me.
I find it a personal success that I had such a loving and
compassionate exchange with the credit counseling
phone rep who had orders to call me on Christmas
Eve to inform me that American Express intended to
gouge me further for no other reason than petty,
small-minded meanness (and -of course- greed !).Then I –in the softest and most gentle tones- expounded
to this customer service rep on how this is so significant
on how democracy is and ideal and not a reality in our
current society. She was courteous, silent, professional,
kind and (though she could not express her own
opinions) made quite clear, intuitively, woman to
woman that she knew, and understood exactly
where I was coming from.I told her not to worry, that I don’t shoot messengers,
and she wished me a happy holiday.As I sat staring at my cell phone in wonderment (in the
dark at the moment because my power was out)… I
recalled the words of one of America’s greatest fighters
(Roberto Duran): “Kill the head, and the body will die.”
And I understood that this is what the corrupt and greedy
have been doing to its own people in this country for so
long. Killing our spirits, making us feel powerless and
disengaged, comforting us with trinkets as they stole our
liberty and constitutional rights. I swore to fight them this
morning. Just as I have been fighting them this past year.If every American sat up on Christmas morning and said
to these usurpers: “I am powerful, you will no longer
kill my spirit, I will fight you until I win my country
back…” and then set some small intention each day
whether it is to uplift another, give from the heart, make
some gesture of compassion, make some effort to get
their point across, get their voice heard by those they
have elected….Then we can do it. And many who have hoarded and
stolen will decide to be with us, because many haven’t
sacrificed their humanity, but have only misplaced it
in a dream.Time to wake up and be one people,
... WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.
